Due to a cabling problem between the receiver and the logging computer, data was lost between 28 August and 6 September 2013.

27 November 2007
The map backgrounds have been updated to show the Canadian and Mexican WRSs that came online by September 2007. Only maps produced for 27 November 2007 and following days show the Canadian (Goosebay, Gander, Winnipeg, and Iqualuit) and Mexican (Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, Mérida, Tapachula, and San Jose del Cabo) stations.

WAAS satellites started to transmit Band 9 ionospheric grid corrections and GIVE values on this day. The UNB maps for this and subsequent days make use of the Band 9 data.

The main page has been updated to reflect the fact that the receiver is providing raw data at a rate of 2 Hz, rather than 1 Hz, and has been doing so consistently since 3 October 2006 (with occasional data outages). Between 23 May and 3 October 2006, data recording rate was either 1 Hz or 2 Hz.

The Alaskan IGD and GIVE map backgrounds have been updated to show the additional Alaskan WRSs that came online on 4 August 2006. Of these four stations, Bethel, Barrow, Fairbanks, and Kotzebue, only Barrow and Fairbanks appear on the maps due to the restricted geographic coverage. Only maps produced for 8 June 2007 and following days show the additional Alaskan stations.

4 December 2006
Between 4 May and 30 November 2006, we alternated between the new Intelsat (formerly PanAmSat) and Anik GEOs depending on which satellite our receiver could consistently track and provide data from. We switched to the Intelsat satellite for continuous tracking on 1 December 2006 despite its elevation angle as viewed from Fredericton being only about 8 degrees. This decision was prompted by the Intelsat satellite being taken out of test mode on 9 November 2006.

25 July 2006
SSII firmware version changed to 1.311 on 21 June 2006. The receiver seems to have problems in reacquiring a WAAS satellite after an apparent outage. We have manually switched the receiver between the PanAmSat and Anik satellites to try to maintain continuous tracking. We are currently using the Anik satellite.

The SuperStar II receiver firmware has been upgraded to provide raw measurements, currently recorded at 1 Hz via Type 23 messages along with the WAAS messages.

4 May 2006
The CMC Electronics AllStar receiver was replaced with a NovAtel FlexPak SuperStar II receiver. The same antenna as before is being used. The receiver was commanded to use the PanAmSat Galaxy XV WAAS satellite which is currently operating in test mode. Only WAAS messages are being archived; no raw data.

13 March 2006
Due to the move of AOR-W, reception difficulties caused problems in data archiving and IGS and GIVE map generation beginning around 13 March 2006. Starting on that date, maps may have data gaps or may simply be unavailable.

4 September 2004
The IGD and GIVE values portrayed on our maps are only those transmitted by AOR-W. The values for the 22 grid points covering longitudes from 180W through 160W which are exclusively transmitted by POR are not included. Changes have been made to the main Web page to make this clear.

20 June 2003
A bug was fixed in our map generation software which had been omitting the IGD and GIVE values at grid point (55N, 65W). Previously generated IGD and GIVE maps have not been corrected. Maps for specific dates can be recomputed on request. The WAAS coverage map has been updated to include this grid point. A couple of other minor fixes to the map were also made. Archived WAAS messages were unaffected.

While recently backing-up our WAAS data and map archives, we noticed that we are missing the data and maps for 16 and 24 August 2001 and 16 August 2002. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Due to local hardware problems, data from the GPS receiver on 2 April 2003 were lost. No maps were generated. Also, data from 14:08 to 24:00 on 1 April and from 00:00 to 00:52 on 3 April were also lost, resulting in gaps on the IGD and GIVE maps.

Due to local hardware problems, data from the GPS receiver on 1 November 2002 were lost. No maps were generated. Also, data for the first hour or so on 2 November and for several hours on 3 November were also lost, resulting in gaps on the IGD and GIVE maps.
